The review

This is another Alice Feeney book that reminded me why her thrillers are so easy to recommend.

Beautiful Ugly has that same sleek, twist-aware energy that makes her books such dependable slump-breakers. There is always a sense that the story is holding something back from you, and that tension alone keeps the momentum up.

What I like about Feeney's style is that even when the book is stylish, it never forgets to be readable. The suspense stays active. You are always waiting for the next shift.

For me, this is a four-star thriller and another good example of how well she handles atmosphere plus plot.

If you want something moody, clever, and built to keep you turning pages, this one fits neatly into that lane.
